The NetConnect OCX gives your application internet access, to enable you to provide updates, upgrades, support, etc. via the internet. NetConnect OCX provides the connection, download and disconnection via easily programmed methods. NetConnect also provides information relating to the local system internet connection.

The NetConnect OCX can access the internet using the default settings of the local system or it can override them. See the help file and downloadable examples to see how to add 'Net Update' via NetConnect OCX into your application.

The NetConnect OCX does the following:
1. Detects whether an internet connection is available.
2. Opens the default internet connection as the user default settings.
3. Opens the default internet connection overriding the user default settings.
4. Closes the default internet connection.
5. Detects whether and reports when a connection to the internet is made.
6. Reports whether a connection to the internet is configured, and how it is acheived.
7. Checks whether a specific URL can be reached and returns the result.
8. Downloads a specified file from the internet and saves it to a specified location on the local system.
9. Removes a specific URL from the cache or clears the cache entirely.
