Installing and registering April16 OCXs on Windows Vista

Some customers have experienced problems when trying to install or register OCXs on Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows Server 2003.

Windows Vista and Help File Issues

You may find that on occasion you can not view the content of CHM files on Windows Vista. You can see the table of contents but the actual details are not displayed. This can occur if the file has come from another computer, e.g. April16, and the OS now blocks these from running. CHM is not the only file type that can be affected with this issue.

The DayView OCX was originally developed using Microsoft Visual Basic 5 and has remained compatible with Visual Basic 5. This has caused some problems with the DayView OCX compatability with Windows Vista. We have the following solution:

Some customers have experienced problems when trying to install or register the DayView OCX on Microsoft Windows 2003 Server. The DayView OCX was originally developed using Microsoft Visual Basic 5 and has remained compatible with Visual Basic 5. This has caused some problems with the DayView OCX compatability with Windows 2003 Server. We have the following solution:

Microsoft .Net Framework SP3 Hot Fix Available For Download

SP3 for Microsoft .Net Framework 1.0 and SP1 for Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 broke compatibility with some ActiveX controls. You need to download a hotfix from Microsoft if you are experiencing the following error: "Invalid Primitive Type: System.Reflection.Missing. Only CLS compliant primitive types can be used. Consider using CodeObjectCreateExpression."
